Oddly, it doesn't make the crime problem go away, and because the new citizens are "different looking", it's still relatively easy to point to the "not as German" citizens as the cause of the problem. And while the new voters may vote for the SDP/Greens today, there's nothing that prevents them from falling into the hands of the CDU/CSU in the long-term.

As for the draft, it's very, very unlikely that Germany will fight an actual war. Germans are so anti-debt that you'd never go to war lest their be a deficit. :-P
