Confession: I am paranoid beyond my technical acumen. Without basis, because caution is usually best when I don't understand.
Example: I'm worried my participation in Orange Pill App could be a honeypot.
- Could lead to a wrench attack.
- Could be 100% irrational fear.
Similarly, I resist BIPs I'm woefully uninformed about.
-We don't need to be world computer. ETH already trod that shitty road.
- Even if my technical understanding is ignorant, I can game out that certain BIPs screw with incentive structures.
- The law of unintended consequences means it's harder to un-ring the bell of shit bored devs dreamed up and black hats exploited.
- We only get one shot at this freedom-saving once-in-a-species technology. Don't screw it up so you can have your legacy contribution.
- Slow and steady wins the race, and ossification will eventually be a part of that.
My two sats, my own introspection, but I suspect I speak for others on at least one of these examples.
Don't hate us. Hear us. And we'll work to become better informed with your patience and guidance.
