Can I use Orange Pill App on a de-googled phone?

I run the orange pill app on CalyxOS because I downloaded the app on the Aurora store. The Aurora Store stopped working a few months ago however and I am unable to update the app anymore, but there is not much the Orange Pill App can do about this.
What's the constraint there for not enabling it?
