Well, if you want to host your own RSS you do need your own server, but can't you use someone else's http server to make your feed available.

yes, you could use a friends server. but I would guess thats much more difficult than publishing a nostr event

running a relay isn't that hard either, if you can install RSS you can definitely install strfry or realy or khatru
