I keep taunting friends and family everytime they see an ad. I don't think I see any ads at this point. I set up a pihole at home + mullvad dns filter + ublock origin + newpipe/boost for YT/reddit

btw, checkout tubular, a newpipe fork with sponsor block integrated, so it automagically skips the in-video ads as well.

I heard of it but I didn't download it because I assumed it would update slower than NewPipe. Since Google constantly breaks the apis, the speed of update of newpipe is a massive selling point. Does tubular get updated as fast? Also, can I import from newpipe?

Yes you can import your subscriptions and app settings via the backup and restore database.

How does it do that? I'm guessing you're talking about ads read by the actual creator of the video.

Yes, there's a crowd sourced list of time stamps of different type of ads, the app then simply skips to the end of the ad and gives you the option to rewind.
