I used to post how cute my new kittens were with snuggle pics. NO! My teenage cats are ass holes!!! Into and on EVERYTHING. This morning I found the banana bread our neighbor brought over on the floor, unwrapped and crumbs everywhere. I’ve kicked them off the kitchen counters countless times today. Never had this trouble with previous cats. Watch bottle doesn’t really phase them. Any cat lovers out there with any tips/advice to keep the varmints off the counters? TIA

Correction, Water bottle. Didn’t catch the autocorrect 🙄

Sometimes putting aluminum foil on the countertop can deter them. They don't like the noise or the feel of it.

I mentioned that to my husband. He didn’t like the

idea but I may put foil out at bedtime and see what happens anyway. Thanks.

Cats are hard to train, ours does occasionally try to jump on counters even though we try to catch him and get him off.

I have a cat that's super hard to train- I had to find something she hates- being put in the garage- nothing else phases her. So now she gets a garage time-out when she's naughty 🤷‍♀️

A strip of tape (masking tape or packing tape - some kind that's not too sticky) placed on the counter in the spots where they jump up can be deterrent. The trick is to put the tape sticky side up (tape it down on the ends with a couple other pieces). They'll jump up, and absolutely hate the feeling of something sticky on their paws. You should only need to do this for a few days. If they're intelligent and not too stubborn, they'll take the hint. Very headstrong or dumb cats may never learn, unfortunately...

Thanks. I’ll try that. The foil last night did not detour them.
