The one flaw in that is you'd be putting a seed into a computer or hot wallet to restore it. A better plan might be to buy another of the devices and restore to that offline. You get the technique reps and a spare without as much risk.

Correct! It sort of like how you can use different browsers to see your bank acct. The bitcoin is locked by Math on the blockchain and most any hardware wallet can be loaded with your seed and used as the key to move it.

This is why its so important to secure that seed!

There are more advanced details to this, but that is the gist. If you get two of the same hardware wallets you don't have to sweat the more advanced scenarios, you can just play and see how cool it is. 😀

If you could only afford 2 hardware wallets and you had a fat stack, it might be better to use them individually in a multi-sig setup. That's more advanced, but I figured it was worth bringing up in this context.
