I tried hosting my own email for a couple years. Worked great until my CIDR block got put on a block list that tried to extort me for money to take me off. That is when I gave up.

I haven't used web based email in a decade.

Also, if you close port 25 (SMTP), other domains wouldn't be able to deliver mail to your server, which is probably not what you want.
