I've followed mine and every single time I have been right, even when everyone close to me didn't understand how "I just knew" catching on frequencies and vibes. I've never been wrong about my gut feelings w/people. I think most people who ignore their intuition care too much about others opinions and go against their internal guide, which I think leads to illness for sure.
