It is the individuality. If my simulations and I could share one consciousness, it would be a no-brainer. Then I guess even the existence of a physical body or the number of instances wouldn't matter. I have a problem with a simulation that exists completely independently of me. How would I treat my simulation if I don't know how it feels? Do we still have the same motivations? I wouldn't want to be exploited, and I wouldn't wish that on my clone.

Those will be interesting issues down the road when we can confirm that a simulation can experience feelings.

Until then I'm not sure if I really care. It is like taking a video of me. I'm not strictly against it, but I don't want to be watching it myself. If I can exist as a ROM similar to Dixie Flatline I would be OK with that, but I don't think I would like to use myself. BTW didn't Dixie ask to be deleted on the end?
