Can I import my own LN wallet in the primal app; or do I need to use their weird KYC thing?

You can attach your own LNURL for receiving, and for sending you can use whatever wallet too it’ll just make you switch apps every time you want to send a ⚡️
It doesn't work as smoothly as just hitting the zap button. Just use fake info for primal for now.
