It’s harder than you might think. I’ve actually tried to do this before.
The really tragic thing is that people who have gotten into that bad of a situation typically struggle to find the hope required to see a better world
It’s actually easier to orange pill (or in this case, purple pill) someone with something to lose, then it is to get someone who has lost everything back on their feet
