But you never know what that Nostrudel guy will do lol

Those are web apps. They require existing browsers which is the wrong way to go IMO.
Nostr to me is less of a protocol and more of a way to get better UI for content that's robust against takedowns. I get that zaps help relays but I hate the lightning network. It feels like having to install SilverLight.
Ah I see. I thought you meant browser client.
Is there a nostr browser? Or browser in the works?
Technically Amethyst and Damus are Nostr protocol browsers. Better than HTTP browsers for this kind of blog browsing.
Despite being here, I'm not sure nostr-as-microblogging is at all likely to succeed. I sorta see this merely as a chatroom about nostr development (and bitcoin twitter exodusees).
I think Letr (the substack alt) is promising, maybe.
Maybe ditto or something sort of discord alt.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What's the difference between microblogging and a public chat room? On the DB and networking level those are identical.
I just mean I don't think it will have significant adoption beyond what it is now. In the microblogging form of client ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Would like this hunch proved wrong tho, obvs
Why is Letr cool?
I just think it might work, less alts to compete with. Already got some press because of devs' previous association with truth social, and don't go for the bitcoiner/bitcoin megaphone
I'm not sure which hivemind is worse. Orange pillers or orange hitler worshippers. Letr has to compete with Substack, Ghost, Medium, wordpress. And truth social is just another twitter clone anyway, literally no changes aside from the domain.
I don't think Letr is/or promoted as a trump platform. I also still think there are fewer aots/ clones of substack compared to twitter alts. And a lot are still emerging, less established. I mentioned the truth social prior association merely cos some tech press picked up on it as a snappy story tho.
