Just finished binge-watching “Il Mostro” on Netflix — a gripping take on one of Italy’s most famous and controversial true-crime cases.

It stirred the uneasy fascination felt as a kid hearing about those murders.

Highly recommended if you want a window into Italy’s late ’60s and ’70s: the ’68 upheaval, women’s emancipation, and the birth of modern society.

Production design is outstanding, with meticulous, handcrafted detail.
