In Japan, in rural areas trash pickup is curbside, there are no dumpsters. There’s a dump place but it’s far and I don’t have time. So you’re supposed to break things up into smaller pieces and tie them together. You’re not supposed to throw much away at once.

Well, recently I had a ton of stuff come in and have a million boxes to throw. And our curb is not that close even, have to walk a few mins. So i loaded up a Coleman cart and made several trips, completely overloading my pickup area so I had to walk to another spot and drop there as well. Feel like I’m wheelin and dealing in cardboard this morning 😆 at least now my garage is empty 😮‍💨

When I sold the family home in NY I had to pay a couple hundred to haul off the stuff we couldn't bring with us. In SC I can just haul it to the land fill. Free to country residents.

Apparently paying people to dispose of stuff is not a big thing here. That was my first thought - just pay someone to take it all.

You can call and schedule pickup too, not sure why we didn’t do that 😆
