Did you spread on parchment paper and let dry?
No, somebody I did some work for sent me a package of freeze dried sourdough starter.
My brother in law does things like this. Is the frozen stuff good?

I just added water to it and I'm supposed to check on it every four hours or so and then eventually give it a feeding of flour and water. It looks good so far but it's probably only been about 20 minutes or so since I added water.
