I think that’s correct. We need a different approach here. I’ve become a believer that the right to basic self-defense doesn’t have to also translate to senseless violence. There isn’t enough responsibility on the part of gun owners to secure weapons from children. No 14-year-old kid should have unsupervised access to an AR-15.
Also, for fuck’s sake, law enforcement really dropped the ball on this one.
