Lol. I had a cop in my hometown explain that if the city didn't approve the police's new increased budget... they'd just find some recent crime statistics that sounded bad and would publish them in the local newspaper... as a means to stoke the fear of the public hence pumping up the public worry and need for more policing which put pressure on the city councilors.
