Aotearoa New Zealand is a great place if you don’t mind the timezones and long flights. Interestingly the lower end of salaries are much better than the US, but on the higher end folks working locally don’t do as well as the US. Taxes are lower AND you get healthcare and education included in those taxes. ;-D

Most employers can sponsor visas, and if you have one of the hundreds of kinds of jobs which are direct to residency you’re good.

Long flights are a big problem, especially when you can’t take any. When I used to live in the UK, a three or four hours flight to Egypt or Italy was so difficult to find and the alternatives would have been of 25 h or more. Imagine how long it could be for getting away from New Zealand when the same circumstances are faced.
