WOW🤯

A lightbulb just went off in my head that I’ve never considered before now.

The immutable ledger of #Bitcoin allows for the unalterable recording of history…

We’ve never had that before now. All of history up to this point is subject to debate, because it’s essentially recorded by the “winner”.

Nobody will be able to alter the facts/events that we experienced in the future once recorded on Bitcoin’s blockchain.

Truly a new era of the Information Age.

Assuming bitcoin lasts more than 100 years.

Even if it wasn’t adopted globally in 100 years, it would still be open source info on the internet/block explorers for anyone to access

Fair point. 🤯

Love this thought! We are in the age of Aquarius / age of information.

“The time when humanity takes control of the Earth and its own destiny as its rightful heritage, with the destiny of humanity being the revelation of truth and the expansion of consciousness”

History held accountable

Interesting perspective! I love the last part, “History held accountable”.

What a time to be alive!

TPTB have countered the free access to information that the internet has given us with dilution via the mass propogation of misinformation and disinformation, causing every piece of information available to be "in question/doubt"... Fostering the need to trust the establishment to determine what the truths and falsehoods are.

Not saying it totally worked, but this is the follow up play to free access to immutable information.

Valid points, completely agree!

This is how I thought inscriptions could be useful, but instead we got mainly monkey jpegs.

What do you mean for things to be recorded on the Blockchain? You mean uploading videos to Bitcoins Blockchain? Books?

That would be a very inefficient use of blockspace and any liar can upload their lies to the Blockchain forever lol

Not directly. I’m sure many innovations and layer 2s/side chains will come onboard in the future that will allow for this with minimal waste of block space. Of the top of my head it could just be a link embedded on the base layer to another source of work on a site or the work itself on a layer 2, though the innovation that will come in this space in the next 10-20 years will probably be beyond what we can even fathom.

As far as the accuracy of the info, what do you do now? Determine the source, the info, and DYOR with critical thinking. The same would apply here, of course. Though it would ideally be objective data with sources on a layer 2 network of sorts as mentioned above.

I know there are already people working on transcribing the Bible onto the base layer of Bitcoin now, even where we stand in its infancy.

But in any case, the option to have immutable data that can’t be erased or changed is a home run for freedom by itself. It’ll be fun to see it all unfold!
