Lightning is a tool. I don't "hate" tools. Either I use them or I don't.
I'm not a fan of Lightning envagilizers and custodial sympathizers. It's the culture that's problematic, not the tool. The tool can for now still be used in a sort of sovereign way to save on fees.
Also, the more I bitch about something, the more I care about it, otherwise why bothering.
Well said. I have very little need for anything other than L1 btc at the moment. I just use custodial Lightning for zapping.
Because of this I lately asked them if I can host the node on my always docked tablet and remote connect to it, they said not available, yet. I guess we just need to ideally host our nodes on an always connected device w/o battery problems and remote connect.
That's how it has always been, LN nodes have always been on always-on remote devices.
The innovative part is putting them in the phone so that most people can use it self-custodially without having to be expert sysadmins.
