run knots or keep the old version of core.

there is no forced auto update removal of settings for existing core nodes.

You run a node knowing the block size is 4MB.

Knots is closer to Core v25 then Core v30 is.

Knots is more current and maintained why run an outdated version no devs are paying attention to?
