I mean, they're beautiful paintings, but calling anything "art" is quite obnoxious

also anyone can call any garbage "art", and then you'll probably start objecting to their use of the term
does any writer call their writings "art", or "my art"? I've never seen a respectable and good writer do so
“Art” isn’t a title I give myself — it’s a word humans have used for centuries to describe what moves them beyond utility.
If a painting stirs something in you, call it what you will.
But dismissing the word doesn’t make the feeling any less real.
