Thank you for sharing
Is this mit expo a btc one? Or a crypto one?. Iβve seen some pictures that made me wish I was there
Thanks.
An interesting point re: the "Coinbase is L2" chestnut:
Chaumian cash technically doesn't pass that particular sniff test either; consider:
"in other words, you can't make a valid transaction on a layer-2 without a valid signature of the party that owns the layer-2 asset."
... doesn't apply, because the user doesn't sign, only the mint does.
Which makes sense, the model is fully custodial, even if very different in other ways from Coinbase.
(Sorry belabouring the point, but just in case another reader isn't clear)
About (zk type) rollups (which I do think are very interesting; see the "Yes", "No" entries in the last two columns of Table 5 in bitcoinrollups.org ) I think you hit the main point that this is really just a better way to do a sidechain in that it doesn't give up custody but trades off more L1 usage, thing is, all the marketing obfuscates the fact that it's still a blockchain of itself, basically, this whole "sequencer" thing does not avoid that issue.
