There is a lot of microchip / food passport masturbation in the lost and wandering food industry. Even small, bottom-up entrepreneurs get seduced by tech. I had a stake in such small startup. Fantastic farmer-to-home internet market. Destroyed by overinvestment in "machine learning" and "blockchain"
If they only spent the hundreds of thousands they got in grants on maintaining customers, improving logistics and surviving the demand dip, they would've been kings.
But noo, they fucking had to issue a token, and what?? scale food like it's tech?
The food market went bankrupt this year and the remaining kleptotoken investors are doubling down on passports for carrots and making a decentralized food market.
