YO,

So for science I sent some sats to an address I've already used. Now in Sparrow it's showing a duplicate address notification and the sats I sent were not added to the UTXO. They are a new UTXO.

What's going on? I thought you could send to the same BTC address if you wanted.

You can, but it is still a new utxo. A utxo is just the output of the transaction you did, they are locking sats to the same pubkey but it are different outputs in different transactions.

So there is no added UTXO consolidation benefit from just reusing an address because you still get new UTXOs?

Exactly, you still create new utxos, it's also bad for privacy.
