Reckon it hits different. Reading for me is all in my head, it's just the written words and my brain interpreting and absorbing. An audible has the narrators voice which adds another emotional layer. Also with reading the eyes are concentrating on the text, not being distracted. With audio the eyes can wander and I've found I have lingering image links of my surroundings with the book I've listened to. The books that I've read tend to sit more clear and deep in my mind while audio books are more cluttered, if that makes sense.

Just paid for the month. Going to give it a shot. And yes, this makes sense. Simple fact, we all learn differently. Something our modern classrooms disregard.

True, I'm easily distracted and not very good at multi tasking. Guess it also depends on the kind of book. Deep literature, for me, is all about that concentration and I doubt I would sit in a chair, staring at the wall in full absorption if it were the audio. Podcasts and more info type books, though, I can audio all day.
