Thankfully you weren’t told to eat grass πŸ˜‚

Pretty sure that's gonna be a poisonous mushroom my dude.

There is this wild book that’s on my shelf that has some interesting information about amanita muscaria, fly agaric, or any of its many folk names.

Really a fascinating book.

According to the book, ingesting this mushroom has individually extremely variable outcomes, so approach with care!

Thank you, lol. I'm well aware of what mushroom this is, found it years ago in Alaska... And no, I didn't eat it, or maybe I did, and this is all a simulation.... πŸ˜‰

Well aware.

Didn't eat it.

Beautiful specimen

Takes me back to a weekend of LARPING in the woods, late 80's at night and some people decided to experiment with those. Dose cautious, so, no trips to ER, but also, no trips.

Maybe try this?

"The strangest and most remarkable feature of the fly-agaric is its effect on the urine. The Koryaks have known since time immemorial that the urine of a person who has consumed fly-agaric has a stronger narcotic and intoxicating power than the fly-agaric itself and that this effect persists for a long time after consumption. For example, a man may become moderately drunk on fly-agarics today and by tomorrow may have completely slept off this moderate intoxication and be completely sober; but if he now drinks a cup of his own urine, he will become far more intoxicated than he was from the mushrooms the day before... . (Langsdorf, quoted in Wasson, 1968:249).x

We're British dear boy. We don't drink our own urine. IIRC they had heard that the key compounds were in the skin and should be lightly toasted. How accurate this was, no idea. This was BG - Before Google - when the we used to make 200 mile round trip to specialist libraries for some things. I really can't believe we did that!
