I'm kickstarting the audiobook for "The Internet Con: How To #SeizeTheMeansOfComputation," a #BigTech disassembly manual to disenshittify the web and bring back the old, good internet. It's a #DRMFree book, which means #Audible won't carry it, so this crowdfunder is essential. Back now to get the audio, Verso hardcover and ebook:

Quote boost:
"Companies can suborn the government to help them abuse the public, but whether public institutions can resist them is more a matter of how powerful those companies are than how fallible a public servant is. Our plutocratic, monopolized, unequal society is the worst of both worlds. Because companies are so big, they abuse us with impunity – and they are able to suborn the state to help them do it":

Once again, Canadian readers need to be reminded that not only is our system far too much like the American's already, our politicians are working hard to privatize more of it - and ignore the bits that have already gone private. Long Read but very worthwhile and necessary.

Because any institution is made of people.
