Google is bringing their full AI capabilities to Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Presentations. AI will be your collaborative partner to get work done. This is wild and also scary. Is this good? Bad? A mixture of both?

Not a fan, but this could be because I don't fully understand the potential capabilities / security issues this may cause.

The tech geek in me is excited, but I don't know what implications this could have once everyone is using it. Would everyone just fuck off and not read email threads and then just tell the AI to summarize the conversation and reply? Will everyone now have perfect documents and perfect presentations? How will people diversify and lead?

I've watched the show West World.

I know all about it.

I really loved West World. At first I wasn't okay with how it ended, but I think the questions it raises makes me appreciate it.

I'm about 4 episodes from the end of WW.

The film Ex Machina is also compelling.

Ex Machina is good too.

Tools are neither good nor bad, how they are used is a different story.

In this case google might put us in some sketchy territory.

Coming from google? It's always scary!

AI is peak fiat. It may solve some minor problems, but I find it disgusting and inauthentic. I don't want to be addressed by a bot.

If your job or business can be run by AI, then what's the point of it?

I am even disliking AI illustrations. To those who use because they find it cool, please give it a second thought. Use your own photos or, if you can't, find something with a free license on Unsplash or wherever. Be authentic.

Big Brother is watching you 😁.

Nah, it’s from Google…

This is a major intellectual property nightmare for any business using the Google Suite for business.

Not only Google is reading your material (which they already do) but now the AI will learn from it and possible suggest similar content to competitors.

Let’s gooo!

As with all new technology: good for those that can adapt to the new environment, bad for those that can't.
