There is no particular benefit to being an early adopter of Nostr, as is the case with Bitcoin.

For instance, Saifedean Ammous (to name just one example of countless) could start becoming active here today, or next year. It wouldn't make any difference for him. In fact, one could argue that he'd be better off just waiting and seeing how things develop, and staying on X until then.

It would be nice to learn why. (What am I missing about Nostr, the thing that makes early adoption important?)

It really depends on the threat model I think. Public figures have to contend with some seriously messed up trolls and spammers and straight up spooks trying to disrupt them.

But there's no way I'd be staying on any centralised network now, even just dropped stacker.news cos they are being overrun by shitcoiner normalcy biased moron trolls, and I don't see any way to exclude them from occupying my CPU's processing time rendering their diarrhea.

They won't drive me off nostr, if I am quiet I am busy, gfy not GM
