i didn't read the text of the summary of nostr:npub1lh273a4wpkup00stw8dzqjvvrqrfdrv2v3v4t8pynuezlfe5vjnsnaa9nk 's bitcoin theft story very closely the first time, but second time i noticed that his server was colocated and someone had physically tampered with it.

the attacker would have to have directly or indirectly been known in-person to luke, and trusted with enough information to at least have his address in order to mount surveillance to discover the location of the server. the server was rigged to penetrate the PC he mistakenly used his PGP on and with that they unlocked the file containing the keys.

the fact it happened to nobody else in the circle suggests that he was targeted specifically for some reason.

it's very fishy, and if i were him in the context of what happened according to the story of the events, i most certainly would also decide to fork their project since uh. yeah, come on. what kind of FOSS dev gets involved in targeting an individual and taking that much of their property from them?

is ocean a bitcoin theft operation, or a mining company? is knots built with his (and contributors) labor or not? does his success as a mining pool operator whose philosophy is openly and publicly hostile to spamming the chain, and the primary reason why customers would choose it? i think yes to all of the above, and then add this brigading and character assassination, it's a slam dunk that someone is out to harm his mission, which is to prevent the compromise of bitcoin.

the lady protesteth too loudly about the man who was done a wrong and framing this like his actions with knots and his interpretation of the intent of the filters change as ... greed?

Yeah, I don't get the character attacks on Luke. Even from people I otherwise like. Anyone who has dealt with him should know that he is very principled. He might fall short of his principles like we all do, but at least he has them.

personally i already pegged most of the people who have joined in the brigading as suspect a long time ago. and core's actions had already started to become suspicious 4 years ago.

there is professional public relations narrative controllers behind the curtain. all of the people who have piled in are bullies, and easy to give them a sense of safety in numbers and authoritative figures to defend their vicious behaviour.

i think that they are just coming out of the closet.

I don't quite understand the motive. What is he getting in the way of? Near as I can tell he just wants Bitcoin to remain accessible to ordinary people. That has been his M.O. in every controversy ever.

Some people don’t want Bitcoin to be money, let alone in the hands of sovereign individuals.

Luke and what he represents stands in their way to expose them, and now they come out of the closet to show their true faces.
