The fact is, money impresses a LOT of people — even the illusion of having a lot of money.

It can buy a lot of influence and “friends” but they’re just hanger-ons and users.

I’m sure she’s a perfectly nice person, but there’s no way she would’ve ever gone out with him if he didn’t have money or the illusion of wealth.

He bought her a lot of gifts and wooed her with money.

In my view, he bought her affection.

I remember hearing about him when that broke.

None of the people he partied with were his true friends and neither were the beautiful women.

I think it’s sad.
