Here is FreeWave

FreeWave uses Nostr hex keys to sign play commands that are published to relays.

FreeWave nodes subscribe to those relays, verify the signature against allowed public keys, then fetch and play the requested audio (music, podcasts, or any media) locally.

Playback is fully permissionless and remote-controlled, without central servers.

Discussion

FreeWave is currently running entirely on a phone.

It works — which proves the model.

The next step is basic hardware to improve reliability and test scale.

If you believe in community-owned, censorship-resistant media, zaps go directly to hardware.
