Trust is one of the most fragile and difficult things to build between humans.
It takes time, patience, consistency.
It needs space to grow—vulnerability, honesty, repair.
And even then, it can be undone in an instant.
That’s why it’s so discouraging to see how we use the internet.
Instead of cultivating trust, we perform.
Instead of listening, we attack.
Instead of curiosity, we reward outrage.
We have this extraordinary tool—one that could help us meet people we’d never otherwise know, understand perspectives far from our own, and maybe even build the kinds of friendships that last offline too.
But most of what we’ve built rewards the opposite of trust.
We can do better.
Protocols like Nostr give us the freedom to reimagine what digital relationships could feel like: not transactional, but transformational.
Let’s make trust possible again.
Even here.
