Arabica coffee does not grow anywhere in the United States, with the exception of Hawaii, whose production is entirely boutique & limited in scale.

Over the past four months, prices for green coffee have risen by 20–30%.

Right now, it’s the roasters & cafés who are absorbing these sharp cost increases, with most still holding off on passing them along to consumers.

But that won’t last much longer—expect the price of a specialty cup to rise by $1–2, or $1–3 per retail bag, in the near future.
