Right. It's not Bitcoin. It's tokens to redeem for bitcoin. And lightning is a promise you can settle for a UTXO. But that is Bitcoin because lightning actually locks real UTXOs for payments between nodes. I digress

Yes. I'd agree. But its an actual bearer asset where as custodial lightning is not and is not private. Nothing beats self custody lightning. But ecash is better than custodial lightning for these reasons. There are no solutions. Only trade offs.

agree. that's what i've learned. i look at it as another option for people as some people prefer certain trade offs over others.

Cashu is about as much as a bearer asset, as is custodial LN sats. One is represented as an entry in a central database, one is an entry that is signed by a central entity.

And the owned item is not the asset itself.
