Hamas has fully agreed to a deal made by independent Israeli negotiator Gershon Baskin, who was negotiating on behalf of the families of the remaining Israeli hostages.
Baskin, famous for his key role in securing the release of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit from Gaza in 2011, arranged the deal through private back channels with Hamas.
Despite Hamas accepting the deal without any changes, the Netanyahu government and the US ultimately rejected it.
