Poverty is the default; it is our base case. We are born into our reality with nothing, and are fortunate to acquire whatever resources we can along the path toward our eventual death, where again, we will have nothing.

We are not guaranteed anything. We are not entitled to anything. There are no such things as "rights" or "freedoms".

The best we can hope for is to be able to act on the next decision we make.
