Pretty sure Ukraine didn’t blow up a bunch of Russian cities prior to the invasion. It’s not that complicated.

I’ll support criticism of any state or leader who acts horribly. Right now the criticism is for Putin. Like I said, I’m not interested in whataboutism. The guy in charge of Russia gave orders to murder a bunch of his neighbors. It’s horrible. Simple as that.

War, whether civil or between nations, is always tragic. The Donbas war started when a Russian citizen tried to take over a Ukrainian city.

Civil wars are horrible in part because the citizens of a nation are in such deep conflict that it escalates beyond political processes. Evil acts are committed. I’m not saying that’s okay.

All I’m saying, from the beginning, is that the president of one country invaded a sovereign nation and started blowing people up, in the interest of expanding their own border. It’s not that complicated.

If USA decided to invade Canada or Mexico I would condemn it just as strongly. When I was in elementary school, we wrote a letter to GWB asking that he not send troops to Iraq, and my whole elementary class signed it. Naive and young, yes. But I haven’t changed my opinion on invading other countries.
