Because those of us who live by our convictions don’t want to be put in a position of power.
With a few exceptions, low life, scum-of-the-earth, greedy, power-hungry, creepy, criminals want to run for election.
Power/authority only attracts the worst kind of people. Good human beings don't need power to exercise goodness
