People still use black powder firearms. It's not just for reenactment.

The occasional 45 Colt revolver, break barrel shotty, and 30-30 is all fine and good but have you cleaned black powder residue out of anything designed after 1890?
I don't know why this article choose pictures of modern casings for this article, I definitely wasnt arguing for the use in modern cartridges. I for one would only use black powder in firearms designed for it. They make some sweet black powder rifles nowdays.

And those rifles are absolutely worth learning to use and and worth learning to make powder for.
It's relativity easy to do and a lot of fun.
