Hey Nostriches! I would like to know what you guys think. So This is an AI piece. There is a huge discussion in the Art world about if we can consider AI work as Art. So what do u think guys, Is AI work Art or not?
I spent years selling art and meeting artists and believe me no one ever came with work at this level. Sure there are talented artists but they are pushed down while now more and more AI work is put in the front. So I'm a little worried. Let me know what u think!
personally I think ai and generative ai based art is super creepy.
as a lifetime artist, painter, photographer, etc - it brushes me the wrong way.
I can't even look at that without getting bad vibes, and not because of my background, or that all this dillutes the value of human made art, but because it just has a bad energy to it.
It's a lengthy discussion, but that's the base premise.

-ai art dillutes the human centric art market
-ai art on a tertiary level makes people less accustomed to human created art, just by its existence.
Have you ever met someone that had never heard classical music, and only liked electronic synthesizer music ? That kind of paradigm, for point 3. If you haven't been exposed, you don't know or understand what you're missing.

I’m anti ai art. I have lots of friends who are artists, who have worked hard and built up their skills over the years. It’s already hard for them to get paid for their work, and with ai art, it’s going to get impossible for real artists to be appreciated. We’re going to see a huge decrease and loss of true human art in the coming years due to AI. Human art is the basis for ai art, so what happens when humans can’t compete?
This will be the case with everything though. Should we just deny technological progress because it denies employment opportunities?

No correlation. I’m not scared of technology advancement. Im not scared of ai art. I simply don’t like it and don’t support it. Belittling people who don’t like ai art by comparing it to electricity won’t help your cause. It just makes it seem like you think you’re smarter than others for agreeing with it.
Hypothetical: your artist friend runs into a creative block but depends on art for living. They secretly use AI to “create” new art and no one is aware. You buy the are and your happy. Later the friend reveals the deception. How do you feel about the art now? Will you throw it away? You loved it enough to buy it, will this deception change your mind?
Unfortunately, I’m one person, I have opinions but no real power to stop it. However, I will continue supporting real artists by commissioning them for their real art. It’s my small contribution. I already ignore ai art. My opinion won’t stop people from using ai art, and that’s okay. I won’t ever pay for it or support it. But that’s my freedom of choice
Yes. If I had my way I'd get rid of computers more or less overnight, and money too, and we'd all go back to a localized agrarian lifestyle, with meaningful interactions between human beings versus this transactional scarcity based economic system run by the globalists, that literally nobody actually wants. The irony of this is due to the last point, I've got tens of thousands of seeds, but currently cannot afford the land to stake a homestead on, build a house, and plant my garden.

i dont like beyond meat. i am sure many people wont want to support ai art either. whats the value in it? it did not come from a human. it has no meaning. meaning is the essence of art.

True! I would use AI when I have a blockage. All artists suffer from creativity blockages. I'll use it for inspiration and that's it!
