Your life is a direct reflection of the work you put into it. One of my favorite phrases is, "garbage in, garbage out". If you hate your job, half ass the work you do, if one of your go-to statements is, "that's not my job", the your life will be a direct reflection of that mentality.

Conversely, if you adopt a strong work ethic, find work you love, or find a way to fall in love with your work, you'll find yourself living the life of your dreams.
