Litecoin is a shitcoin, however it’s one of the most “useful ones” because it’s such a direct fork of Bitcoin that people have tested things on it which eventually became Bitcoin features (such as segwit)

Definitely not useful as money though and it does fix any scaling problems. It has slightly bigger and faster blocks but it actually takes longer for the same settlement assurances and the POW is nothing compared to Bitcoins. The only reason it is cheap to use is because almost nobody uses it.
