Could use it as an opportunity to learn about running your own lightning node. Though NWC is a mess so perhaps running your own lightning node and zaps shouldn't be connected...

I have run my own node for years, and I use the self-hosted Alby Hub with it to provide zapping and other features. It’s been extremely reliable until now.

This is what we call the experimental phase of adoption. Things will just break randomly and cause us to rethink our setups.
