I think changing the verbiage on how we define each sector of security is beneficial to the education of the users.

Mostly what we lack is differentiation when we talk “wallets” to new users. I feel the analogies are better serving.

That’s because there is not really a 1:1 comparison between the digital world and their physical counterparts. Every instance of the word “wallet” in relation to bitcoin is inaccurate, yet it still persists after 15 years because we don’t have anything else to call it that anyone will understand.
