Replying to Avatar Anonymous

I can only speak for myself, but sometimes I devote a tremendous amount of bandwidth to “protecting myself” based off assumptions I’ve made.

Someone at work gives you a look or gives you a short reply. It’s so easy to take it personally, internalize it, and create hypothetical scenarios in which you need to defend yourself.

In all actuality, they’re probably just having a bad day. But minutes or even hours of bandwidth is now devoted to a false reality based off an assumption.

Something I need to work on.
