Also you should check out Joplin if you haven’t! I’m guessing it’s less polished than obsidian but they sound quite similar in terms of being markdown-native with plug-in capability, and your choice of cloud storage location
It looks like it depends on the definition of open-source. It doesn’t use an open-source license, but the code is indeed publicly available (just not redistributable).
