If you had the choice between running a premium node as a DIY on a PC of choice (no SBC, Pi, RockPro, I dont want to go down that path unless you can convince me) that you already own versus purchasing a finished product plug n play node, which would you do?

So far I have tried MyNode, Umbrel and Start9 on basic PCs and high end PCs. All 3 are great and I lean towards Umbrel for practicality and robustness in terms of using the same PC for being a file server too.

I am very tempted to just go ahead and purchase a Ronin Dojo Tanto with BTC and have a separate basic PC as a file server.

It just seems running a node with extra features on a PC makes it sweat too much unless its a gaming PC.

Yes I could purchase a Pi and DIY, but when spending that money and effort, what are the cons of spending slightly more for something like the Ronin Dojo Tanto?

zaps for valuable feedback.

Depends on your skillset. If you know how to install things yourself I would buy an older laptop, fe Thinkpad and upgrade it with a large ssd. I like a built-in battery backup when there is a grid outage.
